Parowan, Utah - Gateway to Brian Head and Cedar Breaks
Parowan, surrounded by Southern Utah's most spectacular scenery, is the gateway to Brian Head Ski Resort and Cedar Breaks National Monument.
Parowan is the mother town of Southern Utah and the county seat for Iron County. It was settled January 13, 1851 by Mormon Pioneers. From Parowan, groups were sent to settle other communities of southern Utah, northern Arizona and southern Nevada. This area has a rich heritage filled with reminders of those who have lived here in the past.
Perhaps one of the biggest assets is Parowan's relaxed and friendly way of life, the rural town warmth, the clean air, and wide-open spaces make Parowan valley an ideal place to call home. The area already attracts vacationers because of its prime location to recreational attractions of Southern Utah and the sport adventures in the mountains nearby.
All services and utilities are available in Parowan including a city-owned electric generation plant.
Just north of Parowan is a small community named Paragonah. The picture to the right shows the road leading into their mountains.
